Juniors

In the Juniors the pupils are introduced to a more structured timetable taught more by subject specialists, with their pastoral welfare remaining under the guidance of their form teacher. Academically children work towards entrance and scholarship examination however because of the diversity of experience most children succeed in many spheres of school life and are well equipped for the challenges they may encounter at their next school.

Infants

As pupils progress to the infants, the small classes ensure that children develop skills, knowledge and understanding in the foundation subjects of English and Mathematics whilst at the same time experiencing many other areas of the curriculum which encourage the young child’s enquiring mind.

The children remain under the pastoral care of the class teacher who also teaches them for the majority of the time, however the children are also introduced to specialist teaches in some areas of the curriculum. Daily reading sessions are the norm here, whilst in Form 1 and Form 2 the children are also introduced to weekly spelling tests. A home / school diary ensures that all parties work together in the child's best interests.

Nursery

The school is divided into nursery, infants and juniors. Classes do not ordinarily exceed 20 pupils. Our staff are well experienced and enthusiastic - ensuring the 'world outside' is brought into the childrens education wherever possible.

The nursery is well established, it provides high quality structured care and education catering for children from two and a half to four years old.  The nursery is open four and a half days a week and attendance can be part time and flexible in the first instance. Pupils in the nursery take a full part in the life of the school, including attending and taking part in the daily assemblies.
