Dear Parent/s
Welcome back!
We have a busy term so far which has included a visit to The Countess of Chester Hospital for Forms 5 & 6, where they all completed a training session on Injury Minimisation.
Our swimming team have taken part in the Primary School Relays and have qualified for the National Finals representing the North West and the junior girls took part in a Football Fun Day at Ramillies Hall School.
Form 1 has been on a trip to the Grosvenor Museum and the Fire Brigade paid a visit to the children in Nursery. Nursery and Prep have been to Stockley Farm and Father Peter Walsh came in to school and took assembly for the infant children.
OPEN DAY – FORM 1 & 2 PARENTS
Thank you to those who attended, the junior children enjoyed showing the parents what they do during their school day. Any parents who missed this are very welcome to arrange a visit when it is more convenient.
CAKE SALE
Many thanks to Penny Samuel for organising the last of her cake sales for the PTA – she has done a great job. The cake sales are very popular and we would love to see them continue - please contact the PTA if you would like to get involved.
FENCING
Today we had a demonstration from the Chester Fencing Club and we will be introducing fencing lessons for Forms 3 & 4 on Tuesdays from 2-3pm, for the next ten weeks, as part of their PE curriculum – please see the enclosed letter for further information.
SMART STATIONS
On Wednesday 30th April Mrs Anna Chow will be demonstrating a computer based learning system which we will be trialling for use with gifted/talented and special needs pupils to enable the children to learn at the rate that best suits them – you are welcome to come in any Wednesday afternoon to see this in action.
We will review this provision and consider how best to use its potential for September.
HEAD LICE
A few parents have told us that they have had to treat their children for head lice. Please can you check your child carefully and treat them if necessary – many thanks.
NEW PUPILS
Natalie Och has joined us in Prep and Tristan Jackson joins Form 4 – a big welcome to you both!
